The Gallery: Outside My Front Door
Posted by Adrenalynn on 31 March 2010
This week’s theme for Tara‘s fabulous online Gallery is ‘Outside My Front Door’. I almost decided not to post an entry this week because I’m at my dad’s for Easter and hadn’t had time to photograph anything before I left home last week.
But then my dad and I took a walk with the kids this afternoon before bedtime and this happened. It was raining when we left, just a little drizzle. Then the sun came out and I had to take a photo of the reason I miss living out here. It’s not a great shot, both because it’s taken with my awful iTelephone and because I had a two year old sitting on my shoulders and the sun in my eyes. But here’s what outside the front door of my childhood home:
Please stop by the lovely Tara to see the other fantastic entries for this week’s Gallery!

It's an amazing picture….taken on a phone? It's so clear! :0)
Hi Nova; I am actually quite surprised myself, as that phone has a terrible camera. Thank you for coming by
I agree, thats a fab picture for a camera phone!
Hi Claire; I’m not used to getting good photos off this phone, so I’m pretty stunned! Thank you for coming by
the iTelephone takes pretty god pictures in good light and outside! and of course with an exceptional photographer prssing the button… nice picture!
Hi Keekaboo; yes, that must be it! I am surprised, as that phone takes terrible photos inside.
that's breathtaking. The sunshine on the water is stunning. You can't tell it's taken on a phone, it's wonderful
Hi Princess L! I agree. I’m so glad I decided to go out instead of moping around the house with two kids with way too much energy built up! I’m very surprised the photo came out so well. Thank you for coming by!
Where does your Dad live? It looks very serene.
Hi Trish; it is! He lives in the country, about one hour from the city where I live. We love coming out here for weekends and holidays, and the kids have plenty of space to play outside. I am so glad they get a chance to experience the same stuff I did when I was a kid!
Wow-beautiful place to frow up!
Hi Susie; it really was! I kinda wish my kids would get to grow up here instead of in the city, but I’m pretty happy having it both ways!
Lynn,
What an absolutely gorgeous setting. There's something about the sun shining on the water that is pretty awe-inspiring.
(and on a side note: your completely make me laugh EVERY time you write "iTelephone"….)
Hi Lance; it really is
And I’m glad SOMEONE finds it funny – could you please tell my husband?
Wow thats beautiful… when can I move in?
Hi Pippa; I agree! I have to start appreciating the beauty right outside my door!
That's a fantastic picture!! So pretty!
Hi Emma; I’m glad you think so!
There can be no question your childhood home is in a very spectacular setting. What joy! Makes my heart jump to move back to Nova Scotia.
Happy lovely Easter!!
xo
Oh wow – what a beautiful spot! And pretty good photo despite the obstacles.
Happy Easter!
So great that you got to spend it with your family.
I first read the title as the gallery out my front door – what a cute way of looking at the view from your lawn.
Haha.
As always, thanks for your sweet comments on my blog.
Love&light1
Nice shot! I also love the air after the rain, it's so fresh and pure and it can't help but lift us up and remind us when things are much simpler and beautiful.
I love that pic with the sunlight streaming, peaking out a bit from the vast horizon
The fresh air after a rain drop….
*Owwwhhhh*
It is so refreshing…
nice picture though, what camera phone is that?
Ohmigoodness, you guys! Thank you for the lovely comments that I read and cherished and thought I had replied to, but… hadn't. So sorry! Still very much appreciated!
