Sounds of silence
Posted by Adrenalynn on 20 August 2010
This place has been quiet while the rest of my life hasn’t. In fact, I feel like I should be whispering right now, if was typing this out loud. Which I’m technically not, but I am hearing the words in my head. Is it weird that the voice in my head sounds nothing like my actual voice?
Real life has finally kicked in again, and of course I’m busy. Everybody’s busy. Being busy is the biggest trend of our time. My kids were sick this week for about half a day, so I stayed home with them and spent the morning wiping vomit off of the couch. How is it that my kids are only sick for a few hours, but when I catch whatever it is they had, I’m wiped out for a good week and a half? Anyway, I actually really enjoyed having the whole day with them, especially because they were so sick that they pretty much spent it on my lap. I’m all set with cuddles for the next year or so.
In other news, the weather is doing that thing where it’s finally warm and periodically dry as soon as everyone’s back from vacation. Gotta love this town.
I hope your weekend is excellent! Do something that makes you happy.

Hey there stranger…
Do I know you??? Wait!! Wait just a second…
YES! I do!! (…I said those two words at my wedding, too…)
So, you've been getting some mama snuggle time (that's a pretty sweet thing…)
Good to see you back here. Well….I don't actually see you. I mean – I do (your little picture in the corner), but I don't (where's the picture of you holding a kleenex, getting ready to sneeze???) Okay…I'll just use my imagination (wow, that WAS a big sneeze!!!!)
Hope you are feeling better quickly (for you…and so I'll quit dreaming up weird thoughts in my imagination…)
This weekend I shall do cartwheels while eating string cheese (bet you didn't know how fun THAT was!!)…
Hi Lance; you know, you've been on my mind lately! And now you're here! Welcome! In Norway, we just say "yes" (or, you know, "ja") at our weddings. It seems a bit more casual to me, but what do I know.
I'm actually feeling pretty great, thanks! No weird thoughts necessary. However, I am now picturing you in my head doing cartwheels with string cheese on your face.
Okay, sassy classy Lance will probably beat me over here, but I'm willing to accept that. He's speedy.
Does he wear a Speedo?
You work for a living, right? Like a JOB you have to take off time from when your boys are sick? That must be weird.
Have a great day, Sweet Pea. Always a highlight to see you over in Funsterland!
xoxo
Hey there classy Jannie! You should know that you out-class Lance any day of the week. And please do not fill my head with images of him in a speedo! LOL
I'll think of you on Monday when I drop the kids off at day care to spend eight blissful, child-free hours at work! Have a great day yourself, mrs. Awesome
Sweet Pea…and Jannie…
Well…I've been away from the computer for a few hours…
…swimming…
(in you know what!!!) (yep! I broke out the Speedo!) My kids were grossed out, but then – they usually are with everything I do…so I figure I must have really been looking pretty svelte.
…and Lynn – you are correct: Jannie DOES out class me! Maybe if I visited her, and she give me some guitar classes…I'd be up to her level of fabulous-ness (don't you think??). Me: I think on Mondays only…
Speedo Speedo Speedo (see – now I'm filling your head with these images…)
Lance; thank you SO much for filling my head with all sorts of lovely images to choose from when I close my eyes! But don't feel bad; all those people who stare at you are just jealous. At least that's what I like to tell myself, so it must be true, right?
This is a very interesting point of view. Your blog is refreshing, but I wish one could find more content, though. I am looking forward to reading more from you. Keep up the good work. thanks.
A day when children want to snuggle up is always a day to cherish, even if they are poorly.
I had a good weekend, visiting my parents in a very sunny Newcastle upon Tyne – only a boat trip away from where you are!
Hi Trish; how true! I almost find myself wishing they'd get sick a little more often…. Almost. Your weekend trip sounds lovely! Just a boat trip away, indeed
oh i am really in need of a vacation and a nice weekend, thanks for the reminder , have been working very hard lately
