Ice Ice Baby

The weather is big news all over the planet these days. Actually, it’s always been big news. It rained for a mere 40 days a few thousand years ago and not only did it get mentioned in the Bible, we still talk about that little shower. I think our fixation on the weather derives from our compulsion to find a common ground. Well, this winter we certainly found it. In fact, we’ve been fed with conversation material for months now.
I won’t lie to you, I’ve been there. I’ve bitched about the snow and rain as much as the next girl. But today, I reached a new low and documented the catastrophe that was the road outside our house as we dared to venture outdoors. Not even my bad-ass all-wheel drive *cough* minivan *cough* was able to conquer the icy madness, so we did this instead:
As you can tell by my smooth camera action, my ladylike elegance was fully intact as I strolled up that hill. I’ve thought about migrating to a warmer country, but frankly, they’re clearly not having the best weather right now either. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I want my rain back.

I know this hill. Or more precisely; my body remember this hill from an unpleasant meeting with the ice. Yes to global warming….
Siri; I concur. So far, this global warming thing has been a big fat disappointment…
That's a lot of ice!
(We've got 13 degrees and sun, but I like watching you guys struggle)
Hi Ingalill; SHUT. UP! THis is so unfair! That's it – I'm moving.
We had a rare six inches of snow followed by sleet last Sunday night and it is still on the ground. It brought our city to a standstill, since we don't have the processes in place to get around in it. I can't imagine what it must be like to have it for months on end.
I did like it the first day or so.
Hi Lynn! I liked the first day, too… I actually said I'd regret it when January came around, but I was so happy to see the snow when it first started falling in November… And yes, I regret it!
I can't believe that's a road.
I'd have to try all my fancy breakdance moves, especially the moon walk … or in this case, moonskating.
Hi JD; I'd love to see some of your (in?)famous moonskating! In fact, that should be put on YouTube…
Even in Florida our weather's been crappy. I could go for some snow actually!
Hi Kristin! I\’d make you eat those words after one day in our icy madness! Global warming can go suck it
