Merry December!
Posted by Adrenalynn on 1 December 2010
Today is December 1st! Feel that? That’s the Christmas spirit sneaking up on you! Feels good, doesn’t it? I love me some Christmas. I love the food, the music, the decorations, even the cold (outside, that is). And I love the parties. I’ve got one down and three to go before Christmas has even started, and you know I’m in my element when I can dress up and put on some heels.
I’ve had something of a mullet situation going on lately, but the awesome SuperMorten and his Magic Hands™ took care of that little situation just in time. Behold the hideousness before his intervention (turn away now if you’ve got a weak stomach, and please ask your children to leave the room):
And the after-photo:
Yes, I strategically chose an after-photo where I’ve actually showered and put on make-up. That’s how it’s done, just ask the pros.
This year I’m even on time with (most of) my Christmas-y chores, which included staying up late last night and wrapping 48 gifts for the children’s advent calendars. Just call me Supermom. This photo was taken just before both strings broke and all the gifts plummeted to the ground. Thankfully there were no casualties.
I hope you’ll have a wonderful holiday, full of laughter and love!

I like your new haircut! Very stylish and classy. Oh, and I love the dress!
Hi sis
thank you so much! You always say the nicest things!
What a hair! What a dress (LOVE IT)! What a girl!
Charlie, you rock my world. And you have great taste, so I trust your opinion! Thank you!!
You look stunning in that photograph. I love the dress. It's a long time since I wore a dress. I used to have legs for mini skirts but that seems like another lifetime ago!
CJ xx
Hi Kathryn, thank you so very much! I think you'll agree it's all in the eye of the beholder…maybe you shouldn't sell yourself short (wink)! Though mini skirts aren't necessarily the way to go, dressing up a little once in a while feels so nice
Thank you for coming by and making me smile
Hey what's the deal SuperMom??? I'm positive these are NOT bathroom shots!! Is this some sort of bizarre change? I feel betrayed. I feel like…is this *really* you. Or an impostor???
By the way (and I'm being completely serious here) – I really love the mullet look on you. (although you do really clean up very nice, too – wowsers!!)
May the Advent season remain injury free…
…and the parties, too….
Lance! Here I wanted to shake things up a bit, go against the grain, change my ways, take the road less traveled – and you come here and complain?!
Thank you for the kind words about my mullet. However – and I'm completely serious – you didn't see the full extent of the situation on that photo. But who wants to dwell on that when I look so awesome now?! Nobody!
Thanks for coming by, my friend! You make the world a better place!
You…are rockin' the awesome!! Hey, and so am I!!
(don't call me SuperMom, though…)
Merry December to you Lynn!
I love your advent calendar. The prospect of putting even one of those together scares the bejesus out of me. I couldn’t imagine doing it for four!
Great hair. Great Morten. If I ruled the world I would make sure every woman had a Morten of her own.
Hi Awesome Dave! I am never, ever doing that again. Unless I forget how much work it was. I can't imagine doing that for FOUR. Actually, I can't imagine doing anything for four, so you have my deepest respect. No, seriously. Kudos.
Thank you – I do believe every woman should have a Morten of her own! But is that really what you'd do if you ruled the world? I'd totally make everyone call me Queen of the awesome. But that's just me. It would be kind of weird if they called you that…
Oooh wow! I LOVE it! Very glam!
Hi sweet Livi! Thank you very much
It did make me feel very glam!
Super Mom is a perfect word for you, Lynn!!! Holy cow, I have not even done a thing for Christmas yet.
Foxy foxy in that dress.
xoxo
Hi Jannie; thanks very much! You are the sweetest. And I haven't bought a single gift yet, don't worry. But I totally have lots of time, right?
You did well Supermom.
JD! Thank you
Hope you're having a wonderful time waiting for Christmas
You ARE a supermom! I'm totally stealing that idea next year. And your hair looks fab lady!
Hi Kristin, thank you! Aren\’t you sweet, o classiest mom alive! The calendar was a hassle to make, but the kids are ecstatic – and they get like, a pencil or a sheet of stickers or something equally cheap in each gift. I\’m such a cheap mom
Great picture. You look like you just did something "naughty." I hope Santa doesn't find out. What's a Morten?
Hi Turf Dad, I did indeed just do something naughty, well done. And don't worry, I have it covered. Santa and I go way back. A Morten is a tiny man with tiny scissors that you can put in your back pocket, ready for use at your convenience! He's a little high maintenance, but totally worth it.
You look great, Lynn! Love that haircut and I'll bet that dress-up party was fun. Merry December to you, too.
Thanks for stopping by
Love the party look – did the dress come free with the haircut then?
Hi Jax, thank you very much for the sweet words! Don't I wish I could have a makeover like that every once in a while
Whooooo-hoooooo!!!
Hope you all had an Awesome Christmas!!
xoxo
Jannie, my dear!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year to you and your lovely family
